Eighth Grade

Mrs. Stein

One step closer to graduation. We took our graduation photos, and we looked fabulous. These photos reminded us of the prize. We still have a lot of work to do before we achieve this goal.

We have begun work on a ten page research paper - the first step toward our in-school science fair in May. Doing this paper, we will practice note taking and learn how to correctly footnote. When our research is completed, we will devise and carry out an experiment. Then we will demonstrate our findings to the rest of the school.

Our study of World War II was fascinating. We took a virtual tour of Auschwitz and listened to a first person account of a concentration camp survivor. After studying the development of the atom bomb, we discussed the morality of using it. If you walked past our room you may have heard strains of "Over There", "Boogy Woogy Bugle Boy", or "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree". From what we learned, we understand why theirs is called "the greatest generation".

As we grow academically, we are using this Lent to grow spiritually as well. Our Lenten promises are displayed on a bulletin board in our classroom to daily remind us of them. We daily pray for the school families we promised to pray for. We hope you are spending this time improving your relationship with God.
